Annuity Scams

Annuity Scams
I just received a check from AIG Annuity for X because I was to enter a drawing? Is this a scam?

However, the letter says: "This check has been provided to you in the wizard to be paid, NO-Canadian residential taxes, insurance and delivery charges for profit "and says that I have to connect to an agent. I looked at the numbers and who was a Canadian number. Sweepstakes Drawing was a consumer promotion.

Of course it's a scam. Legitimate lotteries do not send a check for taxes or shipping costs. Taxes are taken directly from the earnings and any insurance or delivery charges are lottery / Obligation of the company. Do not cash the check or anything. Change the check will land him in hot water with your bank and send money through Western Union or Money Gram is like give them cash. In addition, international lotteries are illegal in the U.S. There is no such thing as a consumer Sweepstakes promotion.
